Functional Endocrinology

Combining the field of Endocrinology, (a specialty of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to hormones),

with Functional Medicine (study of the actual function of the body, on an individualized fashion), to optimize one’s health.

Functional Medicine works towards finding the root cause of the problem – rather than simply treating the symptom.

The endocrine system is involved with glands or organs that produce and secrete hormones which control the body’s metabolism, growth,

sexual development and function.

It is these functions that make the field of Functional Endocrinology so effective in enhancing the Health span. Using the principles of Functional Endocrinology,  alterations in the endocrine system that are yet not in a disease state can be identified. Hormonal imbalances or thyroid problems can be uncovered and addressed.  Issues that, if left untreated, can result into a disease down the road and possibly be prevented if acted upon today.

The goal is preventive and restorative

Your endocrine system may be in a functioning state, however,  you don’t feel fine. Taking a look at what is actually causing  problems and determining exactly what and why your body is not producing enough hormones, allows Functional Endocrinologists to  proceed to possibly restore the body’s function and begin producing hormones on its own.

Identify and understand the complex series of vicious cycles that feed each other, manifesting in symptoms, such as weight gain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, insomnia, digestion issues, cravings, sweating, and low libido.

When corrections are made with any functional inconsistency, chronic disease states are addressed and corrected.

A person will feel and function better.
