May 20th – National Pick Strawberries Day

Did you know that strawberries are not even berries at all?

Strawberries are fruit and have about 200 seeds on their outside. Fun fact, huh? May 20th is known as National Pick Strawberries Day. This unofficial holiday encourages people to get out and pick fresh strawberries. It’s a fun (and affordable) activity for the whole family. The kids will especially love picking their sweet fruit. Picking strawberries encourage healthy eating habits, curiosity, and extended learning. Your kids will be dazzled to learn that a tiny seed turns into delicious red fruit.
